THE GOOD NEWS IS 2020 WILL HOPEFULLY SEE EVEN MORE PROGRESS…… This year we plan to continue our improvements and our Phase 4 is very ambitious. It includes updating the Coffee Bar to include new roof, ceiling and lighting and some additional storage. Upgrading the toilets and re- configuring the old entrance doorway. Looking to maximise the outdoor play space to the rear of the building and to improve the car park and gardens. WHEW – will we need some funding to cover all of the above!!
Our programme of activities continues and these usually bring in small profits so we will again be looking for external funding which may be from developers’ premiums, funding bids or other avenues. The 200 Club membership continues year on year to help support our funding efforts and we are grateful to everyone who contributes.
If you feel there is anything more you can do to support our efforts please do make contact with any Management Committee member. The most important thing is for the community to continue to use the Centre to ensure it’s a welcoming, warm and comfortable venue offering a wide range of activities for all age groups.
Work completed August 2018 - Phase 3
For Phase 3 we applied again to Warwick District Council RUCIS for funds to replace the Main Hall roofing, install new wiring and lighting and a new ceiling. This Phase was completed over the Christmas break by re-plastering part of and then Decorating the Main Hall. It all now looks really light, bright and modern and we love it!
Work completed on new kitchen and entrance September 2018 - Phase 2
In 2018 we really went to town and applied for significant funding to cover the costs of our Phase 2 works. We successfully gained funds from WREN, the Parish Council and our own fundraising efforts to install new front doors, create a new lobby and install a new and much bigger kitchen. This work was completed by September 2018 and is currently very well used and liked by all.
In January 2016 our fundraising to complete Phase 1 of our major upgrading works commenced. Thanks to a Warwick District Council RUCIS bid and Budbrooke Parish Council funds we were able to complete this phase by October 2016 which greatly increased our storage capacity. In 2017 we successfully applied to Warwick Rural West Community Forum for funding to buy new tables and we successfully applied to The Heart of England Foundation to install security and racking in the new store room.
